Gunshow craziness

The Land-o-Sky Gun Show came to Asheville this weekend. I was there with my buddies, handing out cards to promote this project, and looking at all the cool stuff we can’t afford, and some of the stranger stuff we wouldn’t buy if we could.

The gun show always reminds me of the beloved Price’s Creek General Store in Cane River, where you can buy an AR-15 and women’s underwear under the same roof.

This particular show was CROWDED. One of the vendors told me there was a 45 minute wait to get in when the show opened Saturday morning. “Obama-fever,” he said.

Cameras and loaded firearms are not allowed in the LOS Gun Shows. No camera over my shoulder and a cable tie through my gun—it’s unnerving, being doubly disarmed in a room full of weapons and amazing photographs waiting to be taken.
